Ronel Kappes the Director, Processing with Newmont’s Processing and Metallurgy Technical Services team located in Englewood, Colorado, USA talk on how Mineral Processing R&D has an important role to play in addressing key Mining Industry challenges. This presentation provides a brief overview of past Mineral Processing R&D and Innovation contributions and reflects on opportunities for future investigation. Flotation R&D is highlighted and an example of recent success achieved by Newmont in this area, is provided.
