* Gender Equity, Inclusion & Diversity/Partnership benefits and what mining/FLSmidth is doing to create its future workforce (Rebecca Siwale)
In Nov 2022, Rebecca Siwale, Director Productivity & Digital Service Solutions at FLSmidth was recognized as one of Women In Mining — UK “100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining”. Rebecca has been a role model and mentor to women; she has an outstanding involvement with promoting advancement and innovation in the mining community by strengthening inclusion and diversity.
At FLSmidth, we continuously strive for a diverse workforce. To further improve on gender diversity, we have set a new target that, by 2030, 30% of our white-collar jobs should be held by women and to have 25% women managers. Through our continued focus on diversity and inclusion, we believe we can meet our 2030 ambitions. To make this happen, however, we must still address one of the major challenges and create more opportunities for women in our industry. This includes increasing the pool of women applicants for traditional mining positions.
